Since 1910 Hopf Helle's traditional Bavarian wheat beer is has been the Hophf Helle Weisse. With subtle flavors of banana and fruit that come from the special processing of a secret yeast culture, the smooth refreshing taste and the champagne like bubbles make this beer a great thirst quencher that goes extremely well with food. All of our beers are brewed according to the German Purity Law of strictly only five ingredients: wheat malt, barely malt, water (from the Alps), yeast and hops. - The Hopf Dunkle Weisse beer is the authentic dark wheat beer of the acclaimed premier wheat bear producer in the world, Weissbierbrauerei Hopf brewery. This unique brew is made only from dark malts which gives it the rich color and a surprising gentle on-the-palate. cocoa flavor with keen spice overtones. - A beer for special times. For nearly 100 years the Hopf Brewery has brewed exceptional, award-winning wheat beer. From that long tradition emerges the extra-special Spezial Weisse beer with its red-golden color and effervescent quality. This full-flavored beer is made from our exclusive Caramel malts which give the Spezial a strength and fruitiness that goes down so smoothly. The Spezial is particularly compatible with fish and fowl.
- Refreshing and young in taste. This wine is made out of vines which are between 6 and 12 years old. It is a deep ruby red colour with a nose full of fruits.
- This wine is a blend from three different Merlot blocks, including fruit from our twenty year old Hyatt Merlot block. The wine has a fruit driven palate with red hints of cherries in the finish, good balance, and smooth tannin structure.
- Syrah is a fairly early ripening grape, so the good weather meant the Syrah grapes were picked fairly early. Sugar levels were not an issue and acids stayed in a good range. We were able to pick at the peak of ripeness; this Syrah exhibits dark red color and distinctive Syrah aromas of spice and tropical fruit and balanced tannins.
- Grown in the northeast section of the Russian River Valley, this Cabernet Sauvignon is located in the sub-appellation of Chalk Hill. These grapes are exposed to warmer days and cool nights on our family's Los Amigos Ranch, just south of Healdsburg.
- This 2011 Merlot was made from vines grown at Cecil's Los Amigos Ranch, a vineyard in the Chalk Hill region of the Russian River Valley.
- Hook & Ladder's oldest vineyards thrive in the cooler section of our land just west of Santa Rosa. Here the morning fog gently blankets our 100-year old vines and allows the pre-prohibition Pinot Noir to ripen evenly in the summer months.
- Virtually all (95%) of this Zin is made from vines over 100 years old on our Saitone and Gambogi vineyards, planted in 1895 and 1909, respectively.
