The idea here is that the two grapes complement each other and, adding the sweetness of the Malbec to the bitterness of the Cabernet, make the wine more elegant. The nose is a little reticent as well as subtle, elegant, and ripe, with notes of damsons and black cherries intermixed with a whiff of herbs. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with fresh flavors of raspberries, cherries and spices alongside sweet tannins through the long, balanced finish.

While the tannins are firm, but rounded, there is an underlying earthy minerality which drives the mid-palate through the long finish. While delving for pure fruit flavors and juicy acidity, Argyle hangs on their phenolic hat trademark silky texture which has been enhanced through cold soaking in small lot fermenters, along with aging 16 months in French oak barriques.
