The fruit for Rock and a Hard Place was originally sourced from a Vineyard in East Santa Barbara County, which was extremely rocky and unbelievably hard to get to, hence the name. - A silky texture encloses the richness of the fruit, dense and gentle on the palate. Remarkable for its harmony, roundness and intensity, it combines grace, elegance and softness.
- This wonderful everyday Chianti is made entirely from the Sangiovese grape. It is an easy drinking wine with lovely notes deep cherries with a hint of almond on the nose. A core of ripe fruit flavors, lots of pretty bright berry, floral and violet aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied with some fine tannins and a refreshing finish.
- This light to medium-bodied, dry, fresh, aromatic Pedro Romero Manzanilla “Aurora” Sherry is a terrific example of a crisp yet flavorful dry sherry that would work well with Japanese sushi or Spain’s delicious black ham. The entire range of sherries from Pedro Romero are well made at a great price that merit serious consumer interest.
- Dark red cherries, plums, spices, leather and menthol are laced together in a racy, textured Cabernet Sauvignon that puts finesse ahead of power. Gently spiced overtones reappear on the exquisite finish.
- Head is initially large, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy light amber, bottle conditioned. Aroma is moderately malty (caramel, cookie), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with notes of honey, Juicy Fruit gum, dried mango, banana, alcohol. Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Full body, velvety/creamy texture, soft carbonation, moderately alcoholic. Really nice aroma that reminds me quite a bit of Stille Nacht...very fruity and candyish with lots of layers.
- Unfiltered and golden blonde in hue, it has a dense white foam. The hops display an intense expression and the fragrance is a blend of fruits, woods, spices, and floral notes.
- Slightly hazy crisp copper coloured body with a nice bronze glow and a very thin oily tan head. Aroma of yeast, wheat, coriander seed and a touch of curacao and light sweetness. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong yeastie notes up front with hints of alcohol and bitter malt with a touch of spices and herbs, including mint.
- It displays a very ripe nose of black plums, prunes and dates intermixed with notes of graphite and dark chocolate, in a supple palate with marked acidity, abundant dusty tannins and good length.
- Cellar Besllum's opaque purple-colored 2008 Xabec is a blend of 50% Carinena and 50% Garnacha aged in new French oak for 14 months. Aromas of pain grille, mineral, lavender, black cherry, black plum, and licorice inform the nose of this already complex, concentrated Montsant. Savory, ripe, and succulent, it has enough structure to evolve for 1-2 years.
- Pours slightly hazed yellow into a tumbler. Dusty apple and barnyard aromas. Soft with funky yeast and dry apple upfront turning to spicy leather in the medium length finish.
- Elegant and smoothly textured red fruit with bright acidity and long tannins with a lingering long finish.
- This signature White Rhone Blend consists of Grenache Blanc, Viognier, Roussanne and Marsanne. Aged in stainless steel, the grapes come from select vineyards in Paso Robles and Santa Barbara County.
- This rosé is a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre from some of the best vineyards on the Central Coast.
- Bull by the Horns is our most unique blend. Syrah, Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon make this wine one of the most full bodied in our portfolio.
- Head Honcho is the most well known Syrah in the Barrel 27 portfolio. Comprised of some of the best vineyards in Santa Barbara County, this wine always lives up to its name.
- A beautiful crisp North Valley Chardonnay blended with Chenin blanc, and symphony. Lovely and fruit forward.
- A sweet blend of Zinfandel, Ruby Cabernet, and Petite Syrah.
- This Pinot Noir is made from grapes at their flavor peak; it has hints of red fruit and spice followed by a very pleasant finish.
- This delectable North Valley Merlot is blended with barbera, and ruby cabernet. It is red fruit forward, balanced, and round on the body.
- A delectable Pinot Grigio blended with a bit of Malvasia blanca. Very clean, crisp and acidic.
