- This wine is a blend from three different Merlot blocks, including fruit from our twenty year old Hyatt Merlot block. The wine has a fruit driven palate with red hints of cherries in the finish, good balance, and smooth tannin structure.
- Syrah is a fairly early ripening grape, so the good weather meant the Syrah grapes were picked fairly early. Sugar levels were not an issue and acids stayed in a good range. We were able to pick at the peak of ripeness; this Syrah exhibits dark red color and distinctive Syrah aromas of spice and tropical fruit and balanced tannins.
- These 20-year old vines stretch along the front 5 acres of the Hook & Ladder Estate Winery on Olivet Road.
- The brilliant straw color invites comparison to other white wines, but the aroma and flavor dispel that notion.
- Grown in the northeast section of the Russian River Valley, this Cabernet Sauvignon is located in the sub-appellation of Chalk Hill. These grapes are exposed to warmer days and cool nights on our family's Los Amigos Ranch, just south of Healdsburg.
- This 2011 Merlot was made from vines grown at Cecil's Los Amigos Ranch, a vineyard in the Chalk Hill region of the Russian River Valley.
- Hook & Ladder's oldest vineyards thrive in the cooler section of our land just west of Santa Rosa. Here the morning fog gently blankets our 100-year old vines and allows the pre-prohibition Pinot Noir to ripen evenly in the summer months.
- Virtually all (95%) of this Zin is made from vines over 100 years old on our Saitone and Gambogi vineyards, planted in 1895 and 1909, respectively.
- This blend of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Carignane, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Alicante Bouschet is named after the Fire Station from which Cecil retired.
- A slight minerality compliments the crisp green apple finish. Pair this Chardonnay with grilled chicken and seafood, or with a garlic and olive oil pasta.
- Cecil De Loach has been farming Russian River Valley Chardonnay for over 30 years and was among a small group of vintners that helped define this valley as a premier Chardonnay region
- Imprimata aims to be in the best expression of this McLaren Vale vineyard. In the case of the inaugural vintage, it is a blend of 80% Shiraz and 20% Petite Sirah aged for 15 months in 2-3 year old French and American Hogsheads. The Tahbilk clone of Shiraz (one of two clones planted at the property) comes from the oldest winery in Victoria and tends to produce wines that are reminiscent of the northern Rhone revealing more lifted violet and spice character. Petite Sirah is naturally higher in acid tannin and color bringing structure and minerality to the blend. The wine is made by Ben Glaetzer who shares Hammershlag's vision of wines that walk the line between power and elegance always finding balance between the two.
- 100% Grenache grown in the tough Ironstone laden hillside. The vines appear to float above the valley and the sea below, braving the winds off of the Southern Ocean and keeping yields achingly low, thus producing a profound Grenache of delicate balance. Aged in neutral oak for 5 months.
- Upon the first sip of Ichishima Junmai Daiginjo, the drinker notes aromas of pear and cherry as this creamy, light-bodied nectar of Japan glides down.
- Subtle in aroma, this sake offers a smooth, dry, and light entry to the palate. Easy drinking and versatile in food pairing, it is an all-time favorite of the Niigata people, including the head of the brewery himself!
- This is what Junmai is all about. Round and creamy, this sake has notes of apple and banana, while smoky components linger in the background.
- Silk in a glass. A subtle sake that glides down smoothly with notes of cucumber and melon. This unique brew is becoming the drink of choice, not only among novices, but also among those who prefer delicious sake with a light, yet mildly sweet finish.
- Crisp, clean finish with nice aromas. Good sugar/acid balance delivers tasty, classic Washington State Riesling abundant with multiple stone-fruit flavors.
- Crisp, clean finish with nice aromas. With “threshold” residual sugar and fine acid for balance, this wine is bright and palate-cleansing and delivers the tasty, refreshing flavors that make Pinot Gris a terrific match for many cuisines.
- The first impressions of this Crémant are of an intense and complex nose of citrus and dried fruits, honey with a touch of green apple. On the palate, we find all the expression of a well-rounded wine, of toast with an after taste of fresh fruits and lime. Ideal as aperitif with ‘’tapas’’ for example or with oysters and other seafood, white meats as well as some cheeses.
- Big and jammy, this wine has notes of chocolate and ripe red berries on the nose and a wonderful dark chocolate taste with a slight bit of oak. We drank it with dark chocolate and it was a prefect pairing.
