- The dark nearly opaque color has lifted and high tone aromas of baked currants and dark cherry compote, followed by subtle vanilla-toffee oak spices and lavender like floral tones. The palate is full throttle and massively structured offering a layering of fine grained tannins and density. Flavors of anise and espresso bean followed baked cassis and blackberry finish on the palate with a long persistent finish.
- A classic example of Old Vine showing a deep purple hue and dark red core. The aromas are bright and lifted showing bramble blackberries and candied cassis followed by hints of cocoa nibs and spice notes of anise and sandalwood. The palate is rich, fleshy, broad and expansive, showing depth of concentration yet has polish to the finish with flavors of dark cherry, anise and baked plum.
- A lightly grippy version, with tar and warm stone notes lining the dark currant and raspberry confiture flavors. A stony firmness extends through the finish, giving this a pleasant austerity.
- Deep ruby. Sexy, mineral-tinged cherry and red berry scents are complicated by vanilla and wood smoke. Sweet and energetic, offering juicy black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors that become livelier and sweeter with air. A suave violet pastille quality comes up on the nervy finish, which shows very good clarity and smooth tannins.
- Glass-staining purple. Deeply concentrated dark fruit aromas are brightened by zesty minerals and complicated by smoky bacon and Indian spice qualities. Broad and fleshy, with dense cassis and blueberry flavors and a bitter note of cherry skin. Gains freshness with air, taking a turn to brighter red fruits on the finish. This rich, complex wine finishes with youthfully tight grip and lingering spiciness.
- Opaque ruby. Sexy, spice-accented blackberry and cherry compote aromas are complemented by suggestions of licorice pastille and violet, with subtle olive and mineral nuances in the background. Shows excellent clarity and energy on the palate, offering bitter cherry and dark berry preserve flavors that become sweeter with air. Lithe, emphatically floral and penetrating, finishing with excellent thrust and smooth, late-arriving tannins.
- "Well-packed, with raspberry and blackberry pâte de fruit notes, studded with anise and briar details. Dense yet racy. Mouthwatering acidity drives the finish, which reveals ample grip in reserve.
- Vivid ruby. Sexy, mineral-accented cherry and dark berry scents are complicated by notes of vanilla, licorice and black cardamom. Sweet and incisive on the palate, offering juicy black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors that become sweeter and spicier with air. A suave floral pastille note comes up on the silky, clinging finish, which shows excellent clarity and barely perceptible tannins.
- Energetic bay leaf, black olive, tobacco and dried star anise notes stud a core of dark plum and blackberry fruit. A tobacco edge holds the finish, with mouthwatering acidity carrying everything. Very solid.
- Exhibits a very tropical nose with bright citrus, orange zest, and complex layers of passion fruit, lychee, and white peach aromas, as well as a striking crushed gravel minerality. This wine has great texture, with a ripe, round palate, that is kept in focus with a perfect natural acidity.
- Shows beautiful aromas of freshly cut pears, citrus zest, and sweet vanilla. As the wine begins to open up, more delicate floral notes, light clove and spice, and even flinty mineral qualities show through. The mouthfeel is round and full showing the wines amazing concentration and presence on the palate.
- Offers fresh notes of citrus blossoms and sweet hints of Lemon bars right up front. More nuanced character is expressed as the wine unfolds showing ripe pineapple, white peach, vanilla spice, marzipan, and a flinty gun powder minerality.
- Deliciously plump, with pear, peach and green fig notes bouncing along, lined with anise, chartreuse and melon rind accents. The long finish flows wonderfully.
- Bursting with Viognier character: apricots, peaches and preserved citrus fruit. The palate is both smooth and fresh, with hints of spice.
- This offers a deep, tight matrix of black fruit and stone, fine tannins keeping the wine taut despite its density. It lasts on earthiness, the flavors recalling fresh matsutakes and dried herbs.

- This has good energy, with a racy, vivid core of black cherry, blackberry and raspberry fruit, laced with bramble, sweet tapenade and anise notes. A buried iron edge carries the finish.
- Delas Syrah is a seriously endowed, opaque purple-colored effort revealing notes of ink, lead pencil shavings, blackberries, toast, licorice, pepper and a liqueur of minerality. This full-bodied, somewhat reserved St.-Joseph is built for long-term aging.
- Bright purple. Complex, highly aromatic scents of red berries, smoky minerals, fresh flowers and Asian spices. Perfumed and alluringly sweet in the mouth, with a velvety texture and sweet raspberry and floral pastille flavors that become spicier with air. There's something pinot-like here that's very appealing. Juicy acidity gives energy and bite to the tangy, gently tannic, focused finish. The excellent 2010 bottling of this wine is evolving at a snail's pace, by the way.
