Chardonnay

As juicy as a fresh pineapple and as vibrant as a sunny California day, our Chardonnay blends tropical fruit flavors with a refreshing lemon-lime finish. Carefully crafted with ripe, juicy grapes from some of California’s best vineyards, the wine leaps from the glass with tropical-themed aromas and flavors. Fresh pineapple, mango, cantaloupe and kiwi notes are backed by refreshing citrus zest flavors in this lush, silky wine. Thanks to a touch of oak, the wine has a hint of vanilla creaminess that is at once indulgent and fresh.

"An authentic masterpiece! This wine should be regarded as the yardstick by which all other Burgundies should be judged. The color has a splendid golden sheen. On the nose, a multitude of aromas are a pleasure to discover: floral notes of lily of the valley, peach blossom, exotic fruit, honey, grilled almonds, even exotic woods at times. On the palate, the structure is dominated by a harmonious roundness which never imparts any heaviness. The aftertaste is exceptionally long and enhances the finesse of the whole. A refined wine, well appreciated in the whole world. A beautiful golden color and a great aromatic palette: honey, linden flower (tilleul"), hazelnut butter, sometimes even chamomile or hawthorn. On the palate, a silky roundness. Long on the aftertaste, with flavors of yellow plum and gingerbread".

An elegant wine. Brilliant color, with hints of green. Typical Chablis nose, where aromas of citrus (lemon) fern and even salty sensations predominate. On the palate: vigorous and lively, but in a soft mode. A lot of finesse and balance.

A wine that smiles and makes you smile! It is stylistically close to Pouilly-Fuissé, with its golden hue, its greenish reflection and its refreshing taste. The aromas are reminiscent of the ripe Chardonnay grape, with subtle notes of musk. A pleasant roundness coats the palate.

Fresh and fragrant, the aromas waft from the glass sharing their crisp yet creamy aromatics of sliced pineapple and pear with a squeeze of Meyer lemon. The velvety texture is laden with a bright lemony essence that carries through the palate and lingers. Ripe Anjou pear, lychee nut and traces of white floral mingle with hints of smoky oak, adding interest and depth to the wine. Beautifully balanced with bright fruit and silky smooth mouthfeel, this easy-to-sip Chardonnay will be tough to put down. Pair it with fresh-caught halibut served in a lemon and Chardonnay reduction, or a Caesar salad with chicken or shrimp.

The full-bodied Estate Chardonnay displays fine underlying acidity and a long finish. Hints of cardamom, anise and hazelnut add interest to the core lemon, mineral flavors. Of all Mount Eden’s estate-grown wines, the Chardonnay is most in need of further bottle aging at release, requiring an additional two to four years to fully reveal its true character. Many vintages are still fresh and enjoyable after fifteen years, explaining why Mount Eden Estate Chardonnay is considered one of California’s longest-lived white wines.
