Earthy on the palate with saddle, curry and peppermint components, this wine has a sturdy fruit and oak tannin component that will mellow with age. Windhill always has a rustic, old-world feel and produces age-worthy wines. - Gorgeous plum color with black cherry and pepper on the nose. Deep cherry and violets compliment an earthy bramble component of licorice and spice. An elegant, complex wine with focused black fruit balanced by silky barrel tannins.
- Dark blackberry pie, sandalwood and cocoa on the nose, with huge fruit on the palate: dark plum, black raspberry, and marionberry dominate with notes of tobacco-leaf, baking chocolate and roasted beets. This is a structured wine with huge fruit backed up by substantial, well-integrated oak.
- With dried roses, freshly tilled garden earth and brambleberries on the nose, this deep red wine opens with wild blackberry, huckleberries and an almost meaty, savory spice. Sturdy and rich with black fruit tannins on the finish.
- Elk Cove’s Ultima is our definition of dessert; opulence in a bottle. Having long ago established a “cult-like” status, Riesling remains the cornerstone of our new blend, simply called Ultima. The Ultima is comprised each vintage of a selection of aromatic varietals consisting of a proprietary blend. While Riesling supplies the weight of this wine with fresh pear, apricot and honey notes, the supplemental varietals add beautiful delicate aromatics.
- This wine shows as deep, cherry red with aromas of cedar wood, cherry cordial and peppercorn. A complementary palate both juicy and savory buttress layers of sweet cranberry, ripe tannins, raspberry and notes of warm cinnamon and lead to a long, juicy finish.
- High tonal colors of Italian plum show off Mount Richmond’s display of smoke and dried lavender on the nose- cranberry, nutmeg and dark cacao slip into aromas of black cherry and purple plum. The tongue is delighted by spicy clove and sage and tempered by black currant and Bing cherry. Silky tannins with medium-high acid make this a savory and sexy pinot noir.
- Beautiful. With a classic pinot noir aroma of red-fruit and spice, this wine is brighter and fruitier than the 2008 Reserve with less overt tannins. A huge hit of sweet dark fruit with a lingering finish, this pinot has intense concentration from start to finish.
- A bright ruby gem, Clay Court shows cinnamon and saddle leather with sweet almond, spring blossoms and strawberry-rhubarb pie. Characteristics of volcanic Jory soil ring true in the palate of sweet tobacco, white pepper and raspberry compote with hints of prune and leather. Elegant tannins play with slight tension, ending in a pinnacle of grace.
- Rose-petal pink in the glass, wafting peach-plum, rose and elderflowers. An initial flash of green apple and sweet lemon leads to ripe strawberry and watermelon in this lightly-structured, well-balanced rosé.
- A pale straw-colored wine with honeysuckle, lily and jasmine tea on the nose. Intense strawberry flavors blend with fresh green apple and honeydew, which fade into a clean slate finish in this beautifully balanced white wine.
