  • Delas St. Joseph "Touron"

    Delas St. Joseph “Touron”

    Country: France
    Region: Rhone
Deep ruby. Sexy, mineral-tinged cherry and red berry scents are complicated by vanilla and wood smoke. Sweet and energetic, offering juicy black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors that become livelier and sweeter with air. A suave violet pastille quality comes up on the nervy finish, which shows very good clarity and smooth tannins.
  • Delas St. Joseph "Saint Epine"

    Delas St. Joseph “Saint Epine”

    Country: France
    Region: Rhone
A lightly grippy version, with tar and warm stone notes lining the dark currant and raspberry confiture flavors. A stony firmness extends through the finish, giving this a pleasant austerity.
  • Delas Cornas "Chante Pedrix"

    Delas Cornas “Chante Pedrix”

    Country: France
    Region: Rhone
Energetic bay leaf, black olive, tobacco and dried star anise notes stud a core of dark plum and blackberry fruit. A tobacco edge holds the finish, with mouthwatering acidity carrying everything. Very solid.
  • Delas Croze-Hermitage "Le Clos"
Vivid ruby. Sexy, mineral-accented cherry and dark berry scents are complicated by notes of vanilla, licorice and black cardamom. Sweet and incisive on the palate, offering juicy black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors that become sweeter and spicier with air. A suave floral pastille note comes up on the silky, clinging finish, which shows excellent clarity and barely perceptible tannins.
  • Delas Hermitage "Domaine des Tourettes"
"Well-packed, with raspberry and blackberry pâte de fruit notes, studded with anise and briar details. Dense yet racy. Mouthwatering acidity drives the finish, which reveals ample grip in reserve.
  • Delas Hermitage "Les Bessardes"
Opaque ruby. Sexy, spice-accented blackberry and cherry compote aromas are complemented by suggestions of licorice pastille and violet, with subtle olive and mineral nuances in the background. Shows excellent clarity and energy on the palate, offering bitter cherry and dark berry preserve flavors that become sweeter with air. Lithe, emphatically floral and penetrating, finishing with excellent thrust and smooth, late-arriving tannins.
  • Delas Hermitage "Marquise de la Tourette"
Glass-staining purple. Deeply concentrated dark fruit aromas are brightened by zesty minerals and complicated by smoky bacon and Indian spice qualities. Broad and fleshy, with dense cassis and blueberry flavors and a bitter note of cherry skin. Gains freshness with air, taking a turn to brighter red fruits on the finish. This rich, complex wine finishes with youthfully tight grip and lingering spiciness.
  • Delas Croze-Hermitage Les Lunes

    Delas Croze-Hermitage Les Lunes

    Country: France
    Region: Rhone
"Ruby-red. The nose displays bright, spice-laced aromas of red fruits and fresh flowers, with a zesty mineral element emerging with air. Conveys very good focus and lift on the palate, offering nervy raspberry and violet pastille flavors plus an exotic touch of blood orange. Lively and seamless Crozes with strong finishing cut and even tannins coming in late.
  • Delas Crozes Hermitage Domaine des Grands Chemins
Bright purple. Complex, highly aromatic scents of red berries, smoky minerals, fresh flowers and Asian spices. Perfumed and alluringly sweet in the mouth, with a velvety texture and sweet raspberry and floral pastille flavors that become spicier with air. There's something pinot-like here that's very appealing. Juicy acidity gives energy and bite to the tangy, gently tannic, focused finish. The excellent 2010 bottling of this wine is evolving at a snail's pace, by the way.
  • Delas Syrah

    Delas Syrah

    Country: France
    Region: Rhone
Delas Syrah is a seriously endowed, opaque purple-colored effort revealing notes of ink, lead pencil shavings, blackberries, toast, licorice, pepper and a liqueur of minerality. This full-bodied, somewhat reserved St.-Joseph is built for long-term aging.
  • Delas Cote Rotie "Seigneur de Maugiron"
This has good energy, with a racy, vivid core of black cherry, blackberry and raspberry fruit, laced with bramble, sweet tapenade and anise notes. A buried iron edge carries the finish.
  • Delas Cote Rotie "La Landonne"
Red Rather tightly packed, with loganberry, bitter plum and raspberry coulis notes forming the core, while bay, black tea and anise accents add range and extend the finish. A lovely lavender hint echoes at the very end.
  • Delas Cote Du Ventoux "Val Muzols"
Ripe but tender, with soft-edged plum, blackberry and fig notes framed by whiffs of coffee and charcoal.
  • Delas Chateauneuf du Pape "Haute Pierre"
This offers a deep, tight matrix of black fruit and stone, fine tannins keeping the wine taut despite its density. It lasts on earthiness, the flavors recalling fresh matsutakes and dried herbs.
  • Delas Viognier

    Delas Viognier
