    Energetic bay leaf, black olive, tobacco and dried star anise notes stud a core of dark plum and blackberry fruit. A tobacco edge holds the finish, with mouthwatering acidity carrying everything. Very solid.
  • Delas Croze-Hermitage "Le Clos"
    Vivid ruby. Sexy, mineral-accented cherry and dark berry scents are complicated by notes of vanilla, licorice and black cardamom. Sweet and incisive on the palate, offering juicy black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors that become sweeter and spicier with air. A suave floral pastille note comes up on the silky, clinging finish, which shows excellent clarity and barely perceptible tannins.

    "Well-packed, with raspberry and blackberry pâte de fruit notes, studded with anise and briar details. Dense yet racy. Mouthwatering acidity drives the finish, which reveals ample grip in reserve.

    "Ruby-red. The nose displays bright, spice-laced aromas of red fruits and fresh flowers, with a zesty mineral element emerging with air. Conveys very good focus and lift on the palate, offering nervy raspberry and violet pastille flavors plus an exotic touch of blood orange. Lively and seamless Crozes with strong finishing cut and even tannins coming in late.
  • Delas Crozes Hermitage Domaine des Grands Chemins
    Bright purple. Complex, highly aromatic scents of red berries, smoky minerals, fresh flowers and Asian spices. Perfumed and alluringly sweet in the mouth, with a velvety texture and sweet raspberry and floral pastille flavors that become spicier with air. There's something pinot-like here that's very appealing. Juicy acidity gives energy and bite to the tangy, gently tannic, focused finish. The excellent 2010 bottling of this wine is evolving at a snail's pace, by the way.

    Delas Syrah is a seriously endowed, opaque purple-colored effort revealing notes of ink, lead pencil shavings, blackberries, toast, licorice, pepper and a liqueur of minerality. This full-bodied, somewhat reserved St.-Joseph is built for long-term aging.
  • Delas Cote Rotie "Seigneur de Maugiron"
    This has good energy, with a racy, vivid core of black cherry, blackberry and raspberry fruit, laced with bramble, sweet tapenade and anise notes. A buried iron edge carries the finish.
  • Delas Cote Rotie "La Landonne"
    Red Rather tightly packed, with loganberry, bitter plum and raspberry coulis notes forming the core, while bay, black tea and anise accents add range and extend the finish. A lovely lavender hint echoes at the very end.
  • Delas Cote Du Ventoux "Val Muzols"
    Ripe but tender, with soft-edged plum, blackberry and fig notes framed by whiffs of coffee and charcoal.
  • Delas Chateauneuf du Pape "Haute Pierre"
    This offers a deep, tight matrix of black fruit and stone, fine tannins keeping the wine taut despite its density. It lasts on earthiness, the flavors recalling fresh matsutakes and dried herbs.
  • Delas Condrieu "Clos Boucher"
    Deliciously plump, with pear, peach and green fig notes bouncing along, lined with anise, chartreuse and melon rind accents. The long finish flows wonderfully.
  • Domaine Martin Cote du Rhone Villages
    Domaine Martin Cairanne Cotes du Rhône Villages is a full bodied, rounded red, with red fruit flavors, integrated tannins and a slight oaked character. Pairs well with red meats and aged cheese.

    An indicative blend of Grenache and Syrah. Filled with aromas of stewed plums, black cherries blue berries, black olives, and a hint of spiced dark chocolate.

    Fruity and elegant, you can also taste hints of clay and limestone, it is floral on the nose. This wine pairs well with all fish based dishes as it is clean and has a great balanced acidity.
  • Domaine Mucyn Croze Hermitage rouge
    Made from 100 percent Syrah grown in sandy, granite-laden soils, this old-school Crozes-Hermitage offers rustic notes of lightly roasted meat, leather, olive tapenade and cracked pepper, which add complexity and intrigue to a core of dark cherry and red currant fruit. Subtle floral and spice notes emerge in the background, clinging to the long, satisfying finish.
