Wine Enthusiast Scores: August 2011

"A wine full of charm: bright ruby color and a nose rich with aromas of red fruit (raspberry, red currants, wild strawberry). On the palate, the wine is pleasant, fruity and refreshing, with light tannins and great elegance.Aperitif "finger food"? A light (almost) improvised dinner, lunch in a trendy restaurant, LaForêt is always in right place! Its a no brainer, LaForêt is at ease everywhere and with everything or almost! Pinot Noir and grilled chicken, pasta with pesto... simple things, a sign of times". - "An authentic masterpiece! This wine should be regarded as the yardstick by which all other Burgundies should be judged. The color has a splendid golden sheen. On the nose, a multitude of aromas are a pleasure to discover: floral notes of lily of the valley, peach blossom, exotic fruit, honey, grilled almonds, even exotic woods at times. On the palate, the structure is dominated by a harmonious roundness which never imparts any heaviness. The aftertaste is exceptionally long and enhances the finesse of the whole. A glorious symphony of sensations!".
- Beautiful harmony defines this precious wine. Golden and bright color. The complex and distinctive aromas of Puligny are here in evidence: honey, honeysuckle, fresh almond. As the wine matures, these aromas evolve towards dried fruit notes and spice. On the palate, a very nice balance between freshness and velvety texture. There is even a firm backbone that gives this wine a strong structure. Exceptionally long on the aftertaste, with refined and floral notes throughout.
- "A generous and elegant wine. Light golden color. Intense nose of flower, brioche and candied lemon aromas, evolving towards nuances of grilled hazelnut and spice as the wine matures. On the palate, the wine is straightforward, with a nice texture and finesse. It has a long aftertaste where floral and gingerbread notes dominate".
- A refined wine, well appreciated in the whole world. A beautiful golden color and a great aromatic palette: honey, linden flower (tilleul"), hazelnut butter, sometimes even chamomile or hawthorn. On the palate, a silky roundness. Long on the aftertaste, with flavors of yellow plum and gingerbread".
- Really nice chard from Pouilly-Fuissé. On the nose there's citrus and lemon oil. The palate is young and fresh with lemon/lemon cream, some slight salinity, a touch of ripe green apple, medium acidity and a medium length finish.
- It's nose is fine and elegant, revealing aromas of white flowers. Its minerality is most present in the mouth. It is by nature delicate and distinguished.
- Straightforward, rich and complex, it has a characteristic hint of minerality which allows it to partner noble crustaceans (lobster, crayfish…) as well as foie gras. With acidity and smoothness beautifully balanced, it also goes well with fish or white meats (veal or poultry) in cream sauce

The color of the wine is bright and limpid. The nose is floral and fruity. Very straightforward and direct on the palate, as if biting into a grape. Fresh and light, with a very pleasant aftertaste.
