It has been said that Tempranillo is Spain’s answer to Cabernet. Certainly it has the spine for it. It is thick skinned and deep colored. Picos Tempranillo Exhibits the profundity and aromas associated with Cabernet, such as spice, tobacco, olive oil, and herbs. But unlike Cabernet this tempranillo exhibits exuberant fruit. This Tempranillo is grown in Castilla-La Mancha, the “Spanish Meseta” for a vine to flourish here it must have grit, character, and a strong self of self. It certainly shows in this wine.
