Following the success of Noble Blend and Sweet Harvest, Winemaker Robert Fiumara decided it was time to indulge his passion for fortified wine with some of the aged material sitting at his family’s Lillypilly Estate at Leeton in the NSW Riverina. This included stock based on a range of varieties including shiraz, cabernet sauvignon and Muscat of Alexandria. Over the years Lillypilly has released several wines that could have been sold as late-bottled vintage-port style, but Fiumara also had a desire to create a soft, rich, complex and aromatic, cask- matured blended fortified.
