Clear golden with fluffy white head. Light biscuits and grains, dried apricot, very soft taste and feel with velvety orange notes and light herbs. Subtle fruity hops go into a light long lasting bitter finish. Light to medium bodied. Very nice Pilsner actually, better than most of the more experimental Perles.
La Perle Blonde
Winery/Brewery Info
Christian Arztner, whose great-grandfather, Pierre Hoffel, founded the Artzner brewery in Schiltigheim (on the outskirts of Strasbourg, Alsace) in 1882, had fun reviving the brand, following years of studying brewing seriously. His venture created happy visions in the imagination of the Strasbourgeous. To cut a long story short, Christian now has the beer brewed in the Black Forest, having been unable find a brewing premises in Alsace. What’s essential, however, is that product is of high quality and the brand has been revived.
