Jean Deydier Chateauneuf du Pape “Craus Centenaies”

Jean Deydier Chateauneuf du Pape “Craus Centenaies”

Saturated red. Fragrant, ethereal nose offers perfumed black raspberry, potpourri and singed orange, accented by a strong spicy overtone. Dense, sappy and sweet but strikingly energetic; the intense dark berry liqueur and rose pastille flavors are both taut and rich, with strong back-end cut. Finishes very suave and long, leaving notes of anise, black cardamom and flowers.

Country: France
Region: Rhone
Sub-Region: Chateauneuf-du-Pape

Winery/Brewery Info

Domaine Jean Deydier was founded close to the start of the 20th century when Maurice Deydier started the estate. Maurice Deydier was bottling his own wine by 1926. His son, Jean Deydier, who eventually took over managing the property opened the now famous wine store in Chateauneuf du Pape, Les Clefs d’Or in 1960. The Southern Rhone Valley property is still in the hands of the Deydier family today, under the direction of Pierre Deydier and his daughter Laurence.
