The cepage is 80% Malbec and 20% Merlot. Petit Clos is aged partially in oak. There is severe selection and a green harvest in the vineyard. You will taste red fruits and some licorice.
The story goes that in the past, Louis XIV’s peasant-workers picked the grapes during the night to deprive their king and the local lord of a part of the harvest. The paradox is that this grape picked by the light of the moon gave excellent results. They have renewed tradition by gathering in a fresh harvest by the light of the moon, so as to conserve a maximum of aromas and to limit oxidation.
