Although he was married to Catherine de Medici , Henri II had a special affection for Diane de Poitiers who was his housekeeper. Their monogram ” H & D ” interlaced is set in stone at the entrance of the castle . It is also found in the homes of historical lover, Fontainebleau for Henri II and Anet for Diane de Poitiers. This royal monogram has now become the symbol of Chateau La Hague and decorates all our labels.
