This wine is composed of 90% Hondarrabi Zuri and 10% Hondarabbi Beltza. The grapes are unique to the the Bask region and are not grown anywhere else in the world. Zundukarai is lovely, crisp and acidic and light in body . Historical in the Basque region fishermen found that many traditional wines could not survive the long time required for a voyage at sea. Txakoli became the wine of choice because its high acidity gave it a much longer shelf life .

Bodegas Txakoli Zudugarai is a small family owned and operated estate in the Basque region. The bodega was founded about 50 years ago and produces Zudugarai, their only wine from their estate grown grapes. Their vineyards vary in age up to 40 years old and are located on the rolling hillside along the coast.
