Bodegas Pintia Pintia

Bodegas Pintia Pintia

The aromatics on the Pintia are very intense with lifted wild strawberry, raspberry, mulberry fruit interlaced by dried herbs and just a mention of cigar box. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins that are in synch with the tobacco-tinged red fruit. This has very good structure and symmetry, while the finish displays fine tension and a long, spicy aftertaste.

Winery/Brewery Info

In the latter half of the 1990’s, Vega-Sicilia owners the Álvarez family purchased Bodegas Pintia, where the grape of choice is Tempranillo (here known as Tinto de Toro). Located in northern Spain’s Toro region, Pintia sits on rich clay at a lofty altitude the Álvarez clan can relate to.
