Deep ruby. Cherry, dried plum, herbs, cacao powder and smoky oak on the nose. Supple and gently sweet, with good density and richness to its bitter berry and dark chocolate flavors. Chewy tannins come on late and give a slightly edge to the finish.
Porte Rouge is a small estate whose 2.5 hectares of vines flourishes under the bright sun, their roots anchored in beautiful river stones. Syrah and Grenache grapes grow on 6 different lots, each variety offering its specific characteristics. Porte Rouge produces a small number of bottles: between 8,000 and 10,000 bottles a year, depending on the harvest.
