Van Ruiten Petite Sirah Lodi California

Our Lodi Winery is located Mid-way between the Sierra Foothills and San Francisco Bay Delta. The Lodi vineyards owned by the Van Ruiten Family profit from the ideal delta influenced climate (cool afternoon breeze) that produce ripe the full-flavored Zinfandels, that Lodi is now famous for. Before settlement, the Lodi area now known as the Lodi Appellation was often an inland sea after winter rains and spring snow melt. The resulting flood drainage and soil deposits surrounding Lodi left a rich soil that drains easily, producing one-of-a-kind harvests.

Dark hues, exotic aromas of allspice, plums, and green tea, with flavors of black cherries and ripe plums. Exhibiting generous tannins and a lengthy finish, this Petite Sirah should benefit from several years of aging, yet make a terrific accompaniment to hearty stew, lamb, or wild game.

Winery Notes / Critics Reviews

The 2009 Pinot Grigio is brilliant in color and accentuated witharomas of white peach, grapefruit, and pineapple, subtly enriched with notes of apricot and melon. Flavors of tropical fruitare framed with soft acidity that allows the intense fruit flavors to shine.

The Pinot Grigio was stainless steel fermented, and temperature was monitored not to exceed 62 degrees F to produce a slower, cooler fermentation that enhanced complexities of body, flavor, and aroma.
