In 1979, our hundred year-old wine-making company in Spain acquired a small winery in Curicó, in the Chilean central valley, as the first foreign company to back Chilean vineyard production located in a unique magical landscape, at the feet of the Andes volcanoes. Today, after almost thirty years, those 100 hectares acquired then have turned into 445 hectares of vineyards owned by the company itself. Our first estates in these lands were Maquehua, San Francisco Norte and Cordillera. At the end of the 90s we added San Luis de Alico and Empedrado. The excellent climate conditions for cultivating grapevines, with great temperature differences between night and day and lands free of grape phylloxera.
